My Writing Life
This is the start of a series on writing my publishing journey. So far, I’ve taken several twists and turns, but I’m finally producing content.
My first series that is actually being published is my Nightshade Vampire series. This was not an easy one to write. Book one: Shadow’s Debt has taken twelve months to write, edit, and publish. I spent most of this time trying to figure out the direction I wanted to go with it.
It first started off as a serial on Kindle Vella. I’m not sure if that was a mistake or not, but writing it in serial form helped me to form a daily writing habit.
During the year that I was working on Shadow’s Debt, I also wrote what I thought would be a reader magnet. But forty thousand words later, I decided it would be a standalone novel.
Over the next couple of articles, you will get to see the highs and lows of my publishing journey.
